The vessels themselves feature, with the environments and trades which sustained them. It is now almost 40 years since the last coastal cargo was carried under sail alone, but still more information and photographs fill Topsail's pages.

Whilst accuracy is the Society's objective, our maritime heritage provides anecdotes interwoven with historical facts, resulting in easily read narrative, interspersed with many, never before in print, early photographs.
